Stakeholders of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Odo-Otin North LCDA restated their commitment to support the candidature of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola both at the February 19 Party primary and the July 16 gubernatorial election; insisting that not even political bandits will distract them from their goal. They said it was too late for anyone to harass, persuade or negotiate them off their conviction to support Gov. Oyetola, especially in the wake of recent activities of political bandits’ invasion of the state.

As a follow-up to the strategic engagement tour to Ifelodun-Boripe-Odo-Otin Federal Constituency, stakeholders of Odo-Otin North LCDA, in their meeting, made the statement adding Gov. Oyetola’s achievements across different sectors in the last three-and-a-half years as the root of their firm conviction.

According to the communique of the meeting, the stakeholders said any other agenda aside from Gov. Oyetola’s re-election was inimical to good governance in Osun.

The communique read in part: “The entire leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Odo-Otin North LCDA, recognise and commend the good works, policies and pragmatic programmes of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola since he assumed office on November 27, 2018.

“We particularly appreciate and commend the courage, resilience and unwavering commitment of the governor’s exceptional performances in infrastructure and socio-economic development, his pragmatic health care delivery, education reforms, youth development, unemployment reduction, decisive security interventions, road repairs and construction, sports and agricultural development and other sustainable social interventions.

“These are the foundations of our conviction that the incumbent governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, is the leader who is deeply committed to the development of the Osun. The depth of his passion has delivered so many dividends of democracy in the three years, proof that his continuing in office will deliver even greater rewards.

“He has also been a worthy ambassador of the All Progressive Congress, saving it from the devastation it almost suffered in 2018 and making people believe in the party’s ideals again.

“The recent activities of the faction within the party and their arrowhead, attempting to bully unsuspecting people or cajole them into reconsidering their support for Oyetola, is a dead-on-arrival plot in Odo-Otin North LCDA. It is too late for stakeholders in Odo-Otin North LCDA to be harassed, cajoled or negotiated off their conviction to follow Oyetola, the man who means well for the state.

“We unanimously endorse ILERIOLUWA as the only recognised platform for the 2022 governorship election; we will continue to propagate the 4+ 4 Agenda until it actualises. Our contribution to the overall sustenance of the state’s legacies of good governance by the APC Government. Any other plan is inimical to good governance.

“We now collectively express our unreserved and unequivocal vote of confidence and endorse Mr Adegboyega Oyetola as the sole candidate of our party for the 2022 GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION,” the communique read in part.

In her remark, the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, advised party stakeholders to be wary of deliberate provocations and distractions to upset the peaceful process on Saturday.

Also, the elders of the Council took turns to commend the governor, charging stakeholders on the need to uphold the good works of Oyetola in Osun.

The meeting, held at Sandereco Hotel Hall, Oyan, was attended by the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, Member representing Odo-Otin in the Osun House of Assembly, Hon. Adetoyi Michael; Chairman Odo-Otin North LCDA, Hon. Iyiola Adekeye, Secretary of Odo-Otin North LCDA, Hon. Adegoke Rauf; APC Party Chairman in Odo-Otin North, Hon.
