The Agency’s FCT Commander, Mr Mohammad Ajiya disclosed this in Abuja when the Man O’War Nigeria FCT Command paid a courtesy visit to NDLEA in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Mr Ajiya said that “NDLEA does not work in isolation as it has other stakeholders partnering together in fighting the drug war within the society”.

According to him, the visit was meant to create a seamless work relationship and synergy with the agency in the discharge of their duties in the country.

“NDLEA will give the Man O’ War all the support needed from the agency in the fight against drug abuse in the country”.

He added that the agency would also assist them when embarking on various projects to catch the youths young.

The Commander also said, Collaborating with other agencies by going to secondary schools will help to sensitize the youths on dangers of hard drugs which empower criminals into kidnapping and other crimes in the society and introducing a lot of games for the pupils is a good idea as the youths easily embrace such.”

The Commander advised the youths to desist from hard drugs as it will do them no good.

He told them that NDLEA is very much ready to assist them whenever there is a need to educate the youths and to talk to them to understand the dangers of drug abuse.

According to him, having known their intention, he formally confirmed the Acting Commander, Man O’ War, Mr. Victor Warri as an Ambassador of war against drug abuse.

Earlier, the Acting Commander, Man O’ War, Mr. Victor Warri gave the brief history of Man O’ War that it started in 1951 when late Doctor Alex Dickson, a British who found the training centre in Southern Cameroon when he came to Nigeria, he found that sports will be a good tool, for the kind of training that he envisaged, so he started training young people on such active activities that figured out into community service adding that the founder was so much interested in community development, influencing the youths positively in living a good life.

They came to create a relationship with NDLEA to make a society a better place as use of the hard drug is the major causes of kidnapping, insurgency and other criminalities in the country

“Going to secondary school is basic because most times when people get to the university they have already made up their mind but in secondary school is a place where they have been built. They are very young, their minds are open. They are still controlled by their parents or teachers as this, in particular, will change the narrative to make the young people better’’, he said.

The Acting Commander added that they are known for exercises and they will organise  Tug of War Competition in FCT for all secondary schools, bringing these competitions, ” It is very interesting Schools will be really happy to participate and when they are participating, their agency will preach against cultism, violence and drug abuse.”

“We are working with education boards right now in order for government authorities and other bodies to sponsor them to be able to reach all secondary schools.

The visit had both the staff of NDLEA and Man O’ War.
