NBA: Lakers Fall To Mavericks, Timberwolves Beat Warriors
Luka Doncic recorded 25 points and eight rebounds as the visiting Dallas Mavericks claimed a 109 – 104 victory against an out-of-form Los Angeles Lakers, while the Minnesota Timberwolves upset the Golden State Warriors in the NBA.
Dorian Finney-Smith contributed 16 points and nine rebounds. Spencer Dinwiddie had 14 points and nine assists as the Mavericks won for the eighth time in its past 10 games.
LeBron James registered 26 points and 12 rebounds, and Carmelo Anthony added 20 points for the Lakers. The Lakers have now lost 10 of their past 13 games in the NBA.
Minnesota Timberwolves 129 – 114 Golden State Warriors
Karl-Anthony Towns recorded 39 points and nine rebounds, while D’Angelo Russell added 22 points and seven assists as the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Golden State Warriors 129-114 in Minneapolis.
The Timberwolves went on a 12-1 run to close the first quarter and take a lead they never relinquished. Minnesota’s advantage increased to as many as 21 points through a combination of efficient offence and a strong defence.
Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 34 points, but hit just 5-of-16 three-point attempts. Golden State’s Damion Lee added 15 points.
