IWD 2022: INEC commemorates with Nigerian women

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmood Yakubu, in recognition of the International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrated March 8, yearly, commemorated with Nigerian women, praising them for their immense contribution to nation-building, sustaining democracy and maintaining the family values in the country.

Based on the theme, “Gender Equality today for a Sustainable Tomorrow,” INEC emphasises that the participation of women in the electoral process is a pride to democracy. The Chairman added that the Commission would continue to encourage and collaborate with women to ensure credible, free and fair elections in 2022 and the 2023 general elections.
