The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has released the time table for the 2023 general elections.
According to the umpire, the commencement of campaigns by political parties for Presidential and National Assembly elections is to commence 28th September, 2022.
This was disclosed at the INEC Collation Centre in Kaduna by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Asmau Sani Maikudi in Kaduna.
According to the time table, the commencement of campaigns by political parties for Governorship and State Assembly elections were scheduled for 12th October, 2022.
She mentioned that the last day of campaigns by political parties for the Presidential and National Assembly elections is to end midnight Thursday 23rd February, 2023.
“Last day of campaign by political parties for the Governorship and State Assembly elections are scheduled to end on 9th of March, 2023,” Asma’u disclosed.
The REC also explained that the Continuous Voter Registration is ongoing at the state headquarters and the 23 Local government area across the state.
She added that the CVR exercise in the LGA has been given extra attention with the deployment of additional staff and machines to assist in the concluding part of the 3rd Quarter and the commencement of the 4th Quarter as scheduled in the electoral calendar.
