The Green Nigeria Movement (GNM) has said they are mobilising over 40 million registered Nigerian voters to effect leadership change in the 2023 general elections, to engender more development in the country for the benefit of the masses.

The convener of the movement , Moses Siasia at the launching of the rally held at the Polo Ground, Kano state, North Western Nigeria said the mobilisation is to block support vote for a presidential candidate in the 2023 election, who must be a “professional technocrat”, ready to move the nation forward.

“We are mobilising 40 million Nigerian voters across the country, from Lagos to Osun, Benue, Yobe, Kano and many more places. We have to take over the mandate in 2023 through somebody who understands the yearnings and aspirations of the common masses.

“We are going to support a professional technocrat. The time for traditional political professionals are over.

“We are in the age of the 4th industrial realm, which most of our politicians are not in tune with leading to our current economic and politically challenges.

“We need a leader who understands the modern day economic advancement; that is why the Green Nigeria Movement is starting this rally today to bring about the much needed change in the country. So that our land will be green again,” said the convener.

He urged male and female voters across Nigeria to hold their PVCs sacrosanct and use it as the weapon for the leadership change in the 2023 election that is expected to bring benefits to Nigerians, especially the youths.

He said the movement, which is not a political party will throw it’s weight behind a well scrutinised candidate that will not carry on with the traits of the current groups of politicians that have deviated from the struggles of the nation’s founding fathers.

“There are many of them contesting. In no distance time, the candidate will be unvailed. INEC has just released the times table for the election. We are doing SWOT analysis to come up with the candidate that has the interest of the youths and Nigerians at heart.

“The candidate that will surmount our security and economic challenges,” said Siasia

He said the movement through voters enlightenment and sensitisation programs is targeting Youths, Technicians, Artisans, Keke Napep Riders, Road Transport Workers and other fields across the country as well as Diaspora engagement in the mobilisation.
