Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja from London where he had gone for his routine medical check-up.

He was received at the presidential wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja by his Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari at about 18:35 GMT.

The President returned to the country two days earlier than scheduled.

His spokesman, Femi Adesina, explained that his early return to the country shows that all is well with the President.

He added that his presence would bring cohesion back to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) which has been in disarray in the run-up to its National Convention.

The Nigerian leader had departed the country on Sunday, March 6, for the routine medical check-up.

While in London, the President met with the Interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Committee (CECC), Mai Mala Buni.
