The All Progressive Congress (APC), has sworn in new party executives in Sokoto State with Mr Isa Achida as the substantive Chairman.
Achida, was one among the three acclaimed party Chairmen after the disputes emanated as result of state party’s congress.
A Legal Practitioner, Barrister Bello Abdullahi, administered the oath of office to the new executives in Sokoto State.
He also sworn Alhaji Hassan Bello and Alhaji Abubakar Yabo as party’s Deputy Chairman and State Secretary respectively.
Yahaya Buhari, Abubakar Suleiman, Aminu Umar-Tambuwal were sworn as Zonal Vice Chairmen North, East and South while Haruna Adiya and Mr Aminu Liman-Bodinga were sworn as State Treasurer and State Financial Secretary respectively.
Mr Bello Danchadi was sworn as State Publicity Secretary, Mu’azu Mabera, State Welfare Officer, Ibrahim Danyaro, State Organising Secretary, Barrister Bashir Jodi, State Legal Adviser and Hajia Rabi Tudun-Wada as State Women Leader among others.
In his address, the new State Chairman reiterated commitment to ensure party’s unity and its public acceptance stressing the need ”for supporters to woo more supporters for victory in coming 2023 elections.”
Danchadi urged loyalists to eschew differences and work in the interest of party’s progress. The new Chairman commended the efforts of all party leaders in the state, especially the former Governor of the State, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, for their relentless efforts towards ensuring unity and progress of the party all the time.
Achida noted that now that everything was over, the door was open for all interested people who were willing to contribute meaningful ideas for the success of the party.
He congratulated the new executives and urged them to carry everyone along for the overall unity of the party.
On behalf of the newly sworn in executives, the Assistant Secretary, Mr Yakubu Maccido, thanked party stakeholders for their prayers and support to witnessed this historic event.
He promised that the new party leadership would continue to work together without any discrimination.
Disputes came up on the legality of the last APC state congress and who is to be recognised as the chairman in Sokoto State between Mainasara Sani and Sirajo Abubakar besides Isah Achida.
