The Former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has called for support for the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, in the 2023 General elections.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Nigeria, Mr. Kwankwaso commended the turn out at the recently concluded membership registration drive and convention of the party.
Decrying the state of insecurity in the country, he said, “Nigerians are unhappy with the current state of affairs in the country and are seeking for change.”
Mr. Kwankwaso said his new party, NNPP, has a philosophy and ideology that will relief Nigerians of the badly managed economy and security situation.
According to him, Nigerians desire a real change from what is in place now. He added that the 2023 general election will be between those who desire change in the affairs of the country and those who want to retain the status quo.
“The 2023 election will be between those who are happy with what has happened and those who want change.
“We are not happy or satisfied with what is happening and we want to change it. The system is not working and everyone knows it,” he said.
He said having concluded consultations on his future political ambition, he would formally declare his bid for Presidency early next week.
“I have been consulting widely with friends and Nigerians of diverse interests and the outcome has been positive. I will be informing Nigerians of my political ambition sometime early next week,” he said.
