French giants Paris Saint-Germain are said to be considering a move for Napoli Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe should the Frenchman leave for Real Madrid in the summer.

Osimhen has become one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe, with Premier League sides Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Newcastle United all rumoured to be interested in his services in the summer.

According to recent reports, Arsenal is leading the race for the Nigerian international, but Napoli’s asking price for the former Lille striker may lead to a setback for the Premier League side.

According to reports, the Gunners had indicated interest for the striker during the January transfer window but turned their attention to signing Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic but the Serbian opted to join Juventus instead.

Napoli has placed a €100m price tag on the Nigerian.

Speaking to German website WettFreunde, transfer specialist journalist Gianluca Di Marzio suggested that PSG could move for Osimhen this summer, should Mbappé leave the club.

Napoli signed the Nigerian from Lille in 2020 for a reported €81.3m plus add-ons and he has lit up Europe this season, scoring 17 goals in 29 appearances for the Italians in all competitions this season, despite being plagued by injuries, suspensions and COVID-19 related illness.
