2022 Hajj: FCTA sets deadline for Intending Pilgrims to top-up deposit

The Muslim Welfare Board in the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, have given its intending Pilgrims who indicated interest to perform this year’s Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia till May 13th to top up their deposit, before the announcement of the actual Hajj fare by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.
The Director of the Board, Mallam Muhammad Nasiru Danmallam ,disclosed this while addressing the Intending Pilgrims during the Second Phase of education and orientation exercise that took place over the weekend at the permanent Hajj Transit Camp in Abuja.
Danmallam explained that the topping up of the deposits by the Intending Pilgrims would enable the Board establish its prospective master list for the trip to Saudi Arabia.
The Director said the deadline become necessary considering the time frame for the airlift of the Intending Pilgrims to the holy land.
He disclosed that depositing up to the minimum required amount would also enable the Board continue with other travelling arrangements as well as meet up with the deadline for the balance of payment to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
The Director emphasized that only Intending Pilgrims who deposited up to the minimum of 2.5 Million by the deadline would be registered in the master list of the Board for this years hajj exercise.
He warned that the principle of first-right-of-refusal in respect of those whose deposit has been with the Board would elapse with the deadline of Friday 13th of this mount.
He also disclosed that the activities for this year’s hajj exercise would continue on Friday 13th of May with Medical Screening of Intending Pilgrims from Gwagwalada and Kwali area council at the Permanent Hajj Transit camp.
The Director disclosed that Intending Pilgrims from Bwari, Kuje and Abuja Municipal Area Councils would be screened on Saturday 14th on this mount while those who registered with the Headquarters and Abaji Area Council are scheduled for the screening exercise on Sunday.
