A group in Nigeria, the United Pastors Initiative for Good Governance, (UPIG) has called for credible elections in the country.

The Clerics made the call during a Press Conference in Abuja, the nation’s capital,

The Chairman of the group, Reverend James Muya stated that the event was organized as a result of the increase in political activities.

He appealed to politicians to play by the rules in the forthcoming general elections in Nigeria.

“If for any reason you invest your money to pick a ticket, be rest assured that you are going to make your party lose elections because everyone will follow the right way this time.

“We are calling on the government, especially the President having appreciated your efforts in trying to make things work in the country to put more effort in tackling insecurity, improve the economic situation and resolve the ASUU strike.

“To the religious and traditional leaders, let us all open our eyes to see the need to challenge wrongs going on in the country.

The event had Chaplains, Pastors and Journalists in attendance.
