Nigeria’s Attorney General withdraws from gubernatorial race

Nigeria’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami has withdrawn his Governorship ambition to for Kebbi State in the 2023 general election.

The media aid to the Attorney General Dr. Umar Jibrilu Gwandu, confirmed this in Abuja.

Gwandu explained that the Attorney General did not resign his appointment as the Minister of Justice.

He said, “Malami has the right to choose to voluntarily shelve his gubernatorial ambition. It is a matter of personal conviction and individual right which didn’t violate any law.”

“The decision is not only a demonstration of altruism and patriotism, but of contentment, self-control, placidity and decisiveness in problem-solving at a time shrouded with confusing and competing stimulus,” he added.
