Ex- Security Chief, Alhaji Ibrahim Ajia, who is vying for Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives has declared his mission and vision to uplift Kwara State if given the opportunity to serve in 2023.

He made the declaration ahead of upcoming People’s Democratic Party (PDP) primaries.

Ajia, a philanthropist and 2019 gubernatorial aspirant, said that “his mission is to attract the Nigerian government’s presence and patronage to Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency; facilitate juicy federal employment opportunities for young people; and as well mobilise the entire constituency for rapid development without leaving any stone untouched.”

A statement he personally signed and released to journalists in Ilorin on Tuesday reads: “As a young person, I am active in the circle of young people in Nigeria. I have had the privilege, by the grace of Almighty Allah, to come in contact with influential people and institutions in both the public and private sectors of our country. I want to partner with them for the development of our people.

“In my over 15 years of service in the Nigerian Police Force, I served as Security Aide to Governor of Yobe State, Senator Mamman B. Ali (of blessed memory); I served as Chief Security Officer to former Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Hassan Ibrahim Dankwanbo; I served as ADC to former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, and also served as pioneer Police Force Liaison Officer to Federal Government of Nigeria during the tenure of Inspector General of Police, M.D. Abubakar.

Preparatory to the 2019 Presidential Election, I served as the Chief Security Officer of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council where I successfully coordinated the Security for the Campaign Activities in the 36 States and FCT. In all of these positions and more that I have served.”

The statement said; “I have come to understand how government works, and that knowledge of the system and extensive contacts with individuals and institutions of the government are unquantifiable assets in this country.

“With due modesty, I have acquired that knowledge and built solid relationships with critical individuals and institutions in Nigeria and beyond.”

“If I’m entrusted to represent our Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Abuja, I will be an active, relevant and performing representative. I will be part of those who will make things happen in the House of Representatives. Our voice will be heard. Our needs will receive attention, our people will get whatever is due to us and many of our youth will be gainfully employed.

“As a private businessman, I have reached out to our people through my Non-governmental Organization, MAI Foundation and other gestures. I will consolidate on that and do much more for our people. I therefore pledge to serve our people with commitment, dedication, passion, humility and the fear of Almighty Allah, ” the statement added.
