Nigerian Army Women’s Corps Maiden Inter-Battalion Obstacle Competition Ends

The Nigerian Army Women’s Corps (NAWC) has completed its maiden 2022 Inter-Battalion Obstacle Crossing Competition with the Troops of Admin Battalion emerging the overall winners at the event after crossing about 19 apparatus.
During the closing ceremony of the Competition at the 176 Guards Battalion obstacle course in Gwagwalada, Abuja, the Commander Defence Headquarters Garrison Major General PB Fakrogha commended the effort of the Acting Corps Commander and his entire staff for the foresight in evolving the competition.
He said the competition is aimed at testing the physical, mental alertness and combat readiness of the female soldiers. This according to him would strongly improve troop’s physical fitness and endurance which encapsulated the challenges troops faced in the various operational environment.
He also affirmed that the competition will provide the right avenue for combat readiness that will expedite the attainment of the objective, thereby evolving a functional and proactive NAWC.
Earlier in a remark, the Acting Commander of the Corps, Colonel DE Adamu commended the participants for the team work and endurance exhibited during the event, and encouraged them to sustain the feat by always keeping fit.
The participants were drawn from all the units under NAWC which included 1 Women Special Operations Battalion (1WSOB), 2 WSOB and Admin Battalion of NAWC.
Those in attendance were the Acting Commander NA Space Command, Colonel MI Lemu, the Chief of Staff NAWC Colonel TA Akinbo, the former Coordinator 1WSOB, Lt Col S Dibal (Rtd), the Representative of AHQ Dept of Training, Lt Col IA Mohammed.
The Acting Commanding Officer 176 Guards Battalion Maj CO Ogwu, was also in attendance.
