2023: APC changes presidential primary date

Nigeria’s governing party, the All Progressives Congress APC has shifted the date of its presidential primary from 30th May to 29th May.

In a press briefing, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka added that it has not made any decision on zoning of presidency to any region.

The party has also changed the dates of governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and state House of Assembly primary elections.

Our governorship and House of Representatives primary election will now take place on Thursday the 26th of May 2022.

“The Senate and House of Assembly primaries will now take place on Friday the 27th of May 2022.

“The election appeals for governorship and the House of Representatives will now take place on Friday, the 27th of May 2022.

“While the appeals for the Senate and House of Assembly primaries will take place on Saturday the 28th of May 2022.

“While special convention and presidential primary will now take place between Sunday to the 29th and Monday 30th of May 2022” Morka said.

The APC National Publicity Secretary said the new dates will be in a revised timetable that will be released shortly.
