He stated this while speaking in an interview with Voice of Nigeria ahead of the All Progressives Congress party primaries across the country.

Hon. Ogar said despite the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, (ASUU) there are programmes by the federal and state governments to keep the youths engaged and urged them to embrace those programmes for their own good.

The government of President Muhammadu Buhari has put youth empowerment programmes in place to empower youths and they need to embrace it. If they allow themselves to be used, they will have themselves to blame in the future“. Hon. Ogar said.

He pointed out that there is hope for the youths and appealed to them to make use of the available infrastructure, social investment and grants provided by the government.

He said that the primaries is a preliminary step to election and the determinant for reelection of aspirants.

He noted that activities of the House was on low key as members are in their constituencies trying to reconnect and prove that they deserve to be reelected.

You can see that our party is doing everything possible to meet up with the deadline of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, according to the recommended acts of the Electoral Act, to hold all primaries before the deadline“. Hon Ogar said.

On the activities of his committee, the Public Accounts Committee, Hon. Ogar said that the committee is doing very well.

Yes the committee is really doing very well because there are lots of loopholes in government finances, especially where civil servants are. And I stand to be quoted, the most corrupt people on this earth are the civil servants. Most of them are really padding a lot of things and they are hiding. Because politicians always expose certain things and the little they have, they share with people. That’s why people tag politicians as corrupt. They are not the corrupt people. The most corrupt people are the civil servants. A situation where there is an actual establishing an agency and you abandon that act without seeking for your budget to be appropriated before accessing such monies. That is misappropriation. And that is stealing in the procurement act“. He said.

The member also said that some mother agencies suppress agencies under them by giving them orders that are contrary to government rules.

He stressed that PAC will continue to do what the Nigerian people need by putting things in order.

Hon Chinedu Ogah is a Nigerian politician who currently serving as the Federal Representative representing Ezza South/Ikwo constituency in the 9th National Assembly.
