The All Progressives Congress Presidential aspirant, Godswill Akpabio, said he will promote love amongst Nigerians if voted to lead Nigeria as the president in the 2023 Presidential election.
Akpabio, who was the immediate past Minister of Niger Delta Affair, promised the delegates of the party in Gombe State that he will institutionalise value orientation, which would promote peace and unity, through the use of love, justice and fairness.
He emphasised his willingness to use government machinery to build bridges of unity and peace across the country while administering love, justice, equity and fairness to all Nigerians, irrespective of their ethnoreligious affiliations.
The former Akwa Ibom State Governor recalled his sojourn as Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, where he worked with critical stakeholders in the oil-producing region of the country, to bring normalcy and peace to the region.
The former Niger Delta Affairs Minister promised that if elected as Nigeria’s President, he would deploy State of the art technology to aid the fight against crimes and criminalities in the country.
He said, if voted to lead Nigeria, his administration would witness the resuscitation of the economy, through the development of the Agricultural and manufacturing sectors to create jobs.
The governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who was represented by his Deputy, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, welcomed the Presidential hopeful to Gombe and said Nigerians desired to have a leadership that held their interest at heart while working with the current administration to help actualise its dreams of a better tomorrow for all the citizenry.
Governor Yahaya expressed the belief that with his track record as a former Governor, Senator and Minister, Senator Akpabio could lead Nigeria to greater heights.
He told Senator Akpabio that his administration had developed a 10-year Development Plan, which had since created a guide for the massive investment in the health and education sectors, as well as the development of an industrial park.
Governor Yahaya said the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, when completed, would advance the socio-economic development of Gombe State and the country as a whole.
The National Coordinator of Godshill Akpabio Campaign Organisation and former FCT Minister, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar said the presidential hopeful had solid credentials and knowledge to lead Nigeria, particularly at a time when the country was facing diverse socio-economic and political challenges.
Dr. Umar said he believed in the capacity of Senator Akpabio to deliver a progressive Nigeria to the people, having interacted with the presidential aspirant for the past 15 years.
He urged Gombe APC delegates to be decisive in their action of choosing the party’s presidential flag bearer.
The Gombe State Chairman of the APC, Mr Nitte Amangal, said the delegates in Gombe State, under the leadership of Governor Yahaya were united in their resolve to speak with one voice, giving the assurances to the former Akwa Ibom State Governor of Gombe APC support.
