Nigerian Singer Kizz Daniel reveals Meaning of ‘Buga’
Nigerian singer, Kizz Daniel has revealed that his song does not encourage bad behavior or arrogance.
He made this known in an interview with Sunday Scoop, the singer said, ‘Buga’ means to ‘Show Off’. However, in this context, it meant to honour hard effort, devotion, and accomplishment.
The song ‘Buga’ is undoubtedly one of the most popular songs in the country at the moment because it is the number one song on Apple Music’s Top 100 Chart in Nigeria, as well as one of the top five afrobeats songs in the world. It was also the most shazamed song in the world last week.
Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, better known by his stage name Kizz Daniel, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He is best known for his singles “Woju” and “Yeba”. He went by the stage name Kiss Daniel prior to changing it in May 2018.
This song features Tekno, another top class singer from Nigeria.
Kizz Daniel said the following, “after one has put in the work, one should let one’s results speak loudly. Enjoy your success. Whatever you’re seeing out there, whatever results the song is generating, that’s the result of hard work. I have consistently put in my best into all my songs. Nothing good comes easy.
“As long as people work hard to make legitimate money, they should be proud to flaunt their wealth.”
The singer stated that his new song “Buga“, is not extolling arrogance and ingratitude.
