Senatorial Primaries: Barrister Katung Beats six contenders

A former member of the green chambers, Sunday Marshall Katung has surpassed six other contenders at the primary elections for southern Kaduna senatorial zone, including the incumbent, Senator Danjuma La’ah.

 

Declaring the senatorial results at Kafanchan new township stadium, the returning officer, Mr Sabo Babarayo said Katung pulled 112 votes to defeat the incumbent who got 74 votes.

 

The contest which was keenly contested also saw the current member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal constituency, Mr Nicholas Shehu Garba coming third with 52 votes.

 

While the current member representing Jaba at the Kaduna state House of Assembly, Mr Samson Monday Dikko pulled 21 votes. The former member representing Kachia/Kagarko federal constituency, Mr Jagaba Adams Jagaba had 7 votes.
