Multiple award-winning international radio broadcasting station in Nigeria, Voice of Nigeria has gained recognition by the Nigerian Child Development Project (NCDP) for her service in the area of Child development.
The Nigerian Child Development Project (NCDP) is a non-profit project, designed to ensure that the issues concerning the Nigerian child will always be attended to; through advocacy and promoting children’s rights and translating it into dialogues that will build a better world for children.
In children programming, Voice of Nigeria (VON) has done a lot to promote the welfare of the Nigerian Child, through engaging children in telling their stories the way it affects them on KIDDIES VOICES, a fifteen (15) minutes children’s Magazine. kiddies Voices is a programme for children and it focuses on child development and entertainment, while highlighting the rights of the Nigerian Child.
This recognition is one of the numerous recognition Voice of Nigeria has received in Nigeria and globally for its programming, which reflects Nigerian and African perspective in their broadcasts, with the aim of winning and sustaining the attention, respect and goodwill of listeners worldwide; particularly Africans and Nigerians in the diaspora.
Prior to this certificate of recognition, Kiddies Voices on Voice of Nigeria has won several awards which include the first ever Award from Commonwealth Broadcasting Association; the Association for International Broadcasting (AIB) London award for “Creative Specialist Genre” category by the British Media Excellence Awards in 2009; the International Children’s Day of Broadcasting(ICDB) best programmes award by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in 2010 and again the “Creative Feature Category of the AIBs London Broadcast Award” with a dramatized feature on the plight of the girl Child, titled “Early Marriage- The Bane of the Girl Child.”
These awards are in addition to several awards and recognition bagged by other programmes produced and aired in the organization.
