In line with its commitment to reward deserving police officers based on merit, the Nigeria Police Force has decorated nine newly promoted Officers of Anambra State Command.
The decoration ceremony took place at the Anambra state police headquarters on Thursday June 9.
Six officers were who were promoted from the rank of Assistant Commissioner of police ASP to Deputy Commissioner of police DCP were decorated alongside with three officers who were promoted from the rank of Chief superintendent of police CSP to Assistant Commissioner of police ASP.
The inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman who was represented by the State commissioner of police, Echeng Echeng, reminded the promoted Officers that they were decorated with their new ranks at a time when the country is facing security challenges which according to him should spur them to work harder.
In his word, “more is expected of you , in terms of hard–work, professionalism as we are being welcomed in the strategic management level of Nigeria police force. You are going to enhance all core values that the force cherish.”
He urged them to be good Ambassadors of police while assuring that the promotion is the beginning of the good things hence the force is committed towards promoting officers based on merit.
The names of those who were decorated as Deputy Commissioners of police are: Peter Ugochukwu Ezebuike,
Sylvester A.Edogbanya, Festus Etin Irorere, Edwin Esiunnoh Ohbeguaggha and Arikpo Ofemi Ikpi.
While Remigius Akam Ekuri, Rafiu Segun Adabayo and Matthew C. Okafor were decorated as Assistant Commissioner of police.
