The first lady of Kwara state and CEO of Ajike People Support Centre, Ambassador Olufolake AbdulRazaq, has urged Nigerians to further perfect the country’s Democratic process ahead of the coming general elections.
Mrs. AbdulRazaq said this on Sunday in her felicitation message to Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s Democracy Day, which is marked on June 12 every year.
The first lady noted that it is imperative for the country to continue to embrace democracy fully to forge ahead on its path to achieving nation-building.
She stressed that there is a need for the country to perfect its democratic process to set the tone for others in the comity of African countries while describing the country as a “beckon of hope in Africa and continues to lead by example.”
President Muhammadu Buhari changed Democracy Day from May 29 to June 12 on June 6, 2018, to commemorate the infamously annulled June 12, 1993 election.
