SDP Governorship candidate optimistic of winning elections

The former Governor of Ekiti State Southwest Nigeria and Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Mr. Olusegun Oni, says he is optimistic about winning the 2022 Governorship election despite alleged vote-buying.

Mr. Oni made the statement to journalists shortly after voting at the 006 polling Unit of Ward 4, Ifaki 11, Ido-Osi Local Government Area.

Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) has arrested persons alleged to have engaged in vote-buying in the Ekiti governorship election.

The EFCC is part of the security agencies deployed to monitor the election process.

Parading some of the suspects at the Oke Ori Omi Area Division of the Nigerian Police Force, the suspects were said to have been caught with monies allegedly used to induce voters, as the EFCC officials carried out surreptitiously.
