President Buhari Swears-in Acting Chief Justice

President, Muhammadu Buhari has sworn-in Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.

The brief swearing –in ceremony was held on Monday at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Gambari and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami witnessed the swearing-in.

This is sequel to the resignation of the immediate past Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad on health grounds.

Justice Ariwoola who is the most senior Justice of the Supreme Court, was born on  22 August 1958.

He was formerly a Justice of the Court of Appeal before he was elevated to the Supreme Court bench.
