Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) finished lower on Wednesday after the shares of 22 firms declined and the All-Share Index fell by 0.07 percent to close at 29.03 basis points or 40, 465.32 from 40,494.35 on Tuesday.
The market capitalization of listed equities declined by N15bn to close at N21.16 lower than the N21.18tn recorded on Tuesday.
Investors traded a total of 244.20 million shares valued at N2.65 billion in 4,083 deals.
Wednesday’s trading ended with 18 gainers relative to 22 losers.
Julius Berger led the gainers’ table in percentage terms with 9.73 percent to close at N20.30k per share followed by MTN Nigeria with 0.94 percent to close at N181.70k per share, while Prempaints had 6.38 percent to close at N10.00 per share.
Leading the losers’ chart, BetaGlas lost 9.75 percent to close at N50.00 per share followed by BUA Cement with 1.77 percent loss to close at N72.00 per share, while Guinness had 3.41 percent to close at N21.25k per share.
The Shares of FBN Holdings dominated the activity on Wednesday as it traded 52,314 million shares valued N381.49 billion followed by Transcorp with 24.806 million shares worth N23.81 billion.
