The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Iyorchia Ayu has tasked the electorates in Osun State, Southwest Nigeria, to vote the ruling All Progressives Congress out of power to liberate themselves.
Ayu made the call at the Osun State PDP governorship rally in Osogbo, the state capital.
He said if voted to power, the PDP candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke would rescue the state from its precarious situation.
“Let us work for Senator Ademola Adeleke for Saturday election to make a change, because PDP will rescue Osun people and Nigerians from darkness”, Ayu said.
Also speaking, the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri noted that the base of PDP in Osun State is organic. He thus urged the electorates to vote out poverty, illiteracy and hardship in the state.
Governor Diri stressed that Osun election is highly strategic, saying the entire nation is keenly interested in the outcome of the poll.
On his part, the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar enjoined the electorates not only to vote but to protect them.
“Don’t allow APC to rig on Saturday so that you would not go back to darkness which they have created”, he said.
Addressing the party faithful, the governorship candidate, Senator Adeleke promised to accelerate development of the rural areas by granting political autonomy to the local government, if elected.
Adeleke said a vote for him is a vote for progress and development.
