According to the Executive Director of Youths Empowerment Education Initiative (YEEI) and organizer of the event, Dr. Edewor Christopher, He said:

“Unity is not about homogeneity or tolerance, it is about accepting the diversity and differences between us….This kind of unity cannot be achieved by accident, there has to be strategic efforts to promote unity…it is only through unity that we can survive and overcome our challenges.

Guest speaker at the event, Dr. Casmir Anyanwu outlined the challenges posing threats to peaceful living and coexistence in Nigeria. He further had this to say:

“Inspite of obvious obstacles, the Nigeria experiment is doable, that is worthy of necessary sacrifices by all and sundry…. It has been shown especially in the First Republic that Nigeria has the capacity for peaceful coexistence.”
