Nigerian Troops arrest suspects engaged in illegal sale of firearms

Nigerian Troops of Operation Safe Haven have arrested three suspects engaged in the illegal sale of firearms at Shimakar village Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State.

In a statement, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Bernard Onyeuko said that troops achieved this through their professionalism and continuous sustaining operational tempo in their Area of Operation.

According to him, the suspects; Mr Julius Simon (alias Bagga) – 37yrs, Mr Wolta Zambai – 45yrs and Mr Iliya Peter (alias Doubok) 27yrs are currently undergoing investigation.

Similarly, troops also arrested two kidnappers; Alhaji Musa Usman 27yrs and Adam Mohammed 25yrs at Barkin Ladi, Plateau State.

Onyeuko said that “The suspects confessed to have carried out several kidnapping activities in the general area including the kidnap of one Master Jeremiah Elijah a 6yrs old.”

He noted that the suspects are in custody undergoing further interrogation.

Meanwhile, the Military High Command has commended the troops and encouraged the general public to avail them with credible and timely information on criminal activities.
