The Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has affirmed his country’s neutrality amid the Ukraine crisis.

Museveni made the remarks at a joint press briefing with the visiting Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov at State House in Entebbe.

Lavrov is currently on a tour of Africa tour aimed at strengthening Moscow’s ties with the continent.

The Russian Foreign Minister has already visited Egypt and the Republic of Congo. He is also scheduled to visit Ethiopia, where African Union, AU diplomats said he had invited ambassadors from several member states to a private meeting on Wednesday.
