Kaduna State Immigration Comptroller vows to secure neighbouring borders

The new Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service, Kaduna State Command, Sani Kila has promised to strengthen collaboration with other security agencies to checkmate illegal migrations.

He made the promise while addressing men of the Immigration service on his assumption into office in Kaduna.

Kila tasked them on diligency, nothing that most security threats and attacks were carried out by non-Nigerians.

He said; “It is not going to be business as usual. As the new Comptroller of Immigration Kaduna State command, I am going to consolidate on the efforts of the past Comptrollers and work in synergy with other security agencies.”

After inspecting the quarter guard, Comptroller further emphasised that the control of persons entering or leaving the state is the responsibility of the service.

ECOWAS section
He also stated that the immigration service already has an established ECOWAS section saddled with the responsible of issuing residence permits to foreigners, as empowered by Section 2 of the Immigration Act, 2015.

“As part of our efforts to secure the boarders, our men are attached to Operation Yaki. The essence of the collaboration is to checkmate the illegal movements of non Nigerians into the state,” the new Comptroller added.
