30,000 Nigerian homes to benefit from government’s switch to LPG

Nigeria Government has set a plan to switch about 30,000,000 homes from the use of firewood, kerosene and other dirty fuels to Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) to improve the livelihood.

 

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on LPG, Mr Dayo Adesina stated this during the opening Ceremony a- 2 day sensitisation campaign on National LPG Expansion Implementation Plan (NLEIP), in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.

 

Mr Adesina, who is also the program Manager of NLEIP said the sensitisation is in collaboration with Ebonyi state Government, as one of the 12 pilot states selected for the program.

 

He said “our target is for states governments, the LPG industries and of course the people to ensure enough sensitisation, implementation and sustainability”.

 

On his part, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr David Umahi, represented by his Deputy, Dr Kelechi Igwe, thanked the office of the Vice president of Nigeria for carrying out the campaign.

 

Dr Igwe informed the group that Nigeria is endowed with natural gas, making the country one of the largest producers of gas in Africa.

 

He encouraged the national team to continue with their good work.
