The governing All Progressives Congress, APC, has received a balance of 20 million naira from the party’s subcommittee on Media and Publicity for the Presidential Primary and Special Convention held in June 2022.
The subcommittee chaired by the Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, presented a bank draft of the money and the Committee’s report to the APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.
While receiving the report, the APC National Chairman said the Committee performed creditably with integrity and honesty.
“I feel delighted and appreciative for the effort of the Committee set for the organisation of the last Convention by the party.
“I said when we were receiving the report, we appreciate the integrity the Committee has shown from the point of leadership provided for the excellent job they did.
“And they have been so transparent and accountable to the extent of declaring some surplus,” Adamu said.
The APC National Chairman added that other sub-committees have also submitted their reports.
He said he was happy that no incident was reported and that the party is still waxing strong after the presidential primary, which is not expected after such a highly contested presidential primary election.
The subcommittee Chairman, Governor Abdullahi Sule, said they gave 140 million naira to the subcommittee and were prudent with spending.
He appreciated the media for the support it rendered during the Convention.
“We got one of the best support from media houses. We never got this kind of support when I was chairman of the previous Committee that produced the NWC. We are grateful for the maximum support we received from the media.
“I also saw so much commitment from our members to where every experienced media person there was sent out to promote the party and its Convention. And they did a fantastic job.
“In a nutshell, that’s just a little I can tell you about how the media committee conducted the last Convention,” the Governor said.
The Media and Publicity subcommittee, which comprised 56 members, had in attendance the committee secretary, Senator Bello Mandiya, Voice of Nigeria Director-General Osita Okechukwu, and other committee members.
