Nollywood actress joins Amazon Studios Original Development Team
Amazon studios has unveiled Nollywood actress and producer, Kemi Lala Akindoju as one of its four-member local Originals development team.
Akindoju joins the Nigerian originals team as the Senior Movies Creative Executive. Other confirmed executives include M-Net’s former Head of Local Productions and Independent Films Kaye Ann Williams, Brendan Gabriel and Mike-Steve Adeleye.
In a LinkedIn post announcing the team, Amazon studios’ Head of Originals, Africa and the Middle East, Ned Mitchell wrote:
“Another big day! I’m thrilled to share that our Amazon Studios Local Originals team has grown even more, both in South Africa and Nigeria. Please welcome Kaye Ann Williams, Brendan Gabriel, Lala Akindoju, and Mike-Steve Adeleye to the Amazon Studios Originals development team, joining Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu.”

Akindoju also shared the good news on Instagram.

Amazon’s latest announcement follows its August’s local slate reveal. The studios officially launched Prime Video Naija last month giving subscribers in Nigeria access to over 10,000 titles including a forthcoming slate of films, scripted and unscripted content.
Kemi “Lala” Akindoju is a Nigerian actress. She won an Africa Magic trailbrailzer award for her role in the film adaptation of Dazzling Mirage.
