Market index drops further by 0.07%

Losses persisted on the equities market on Thursday as the benchmark all share index depreciated further by 0.07% to close at 49,540.48 basis points ,being 35.45 points lower than Wednesday’s 49,575.93 points.
The market capitalisation also dropped by N19 billion to close at N26,721 trillion as against N26,740 trillion posted at the end of trading on Wednesday.
Investors traded a total of 167.60 million shares with market value of N1.26 billion in 3,457 deals on Thursday as trading closed with 8 gainers and 17 losers.
Sovereign Trust Insurance led the gainers with 3.85% gain and a closing price of N0.27k, followed by Cadbury Nigeria with 2.69% gain and a closing price of N13.35k then Courteville Business Solutions gained 2.08% to close at N0.49k.
On the losing side was UAC Nigeria with a loss of 6.82% and a closing price of N10.25k. It was followed by Vitafoam Nigeria which lost 5.88% to close at N20.00 and UPDC Real Estate Investment Trust which lost 5.88% to close at N3.20k.
Courteville Business Solution was the toast of investors for the day as it recorded the highest volume of 38.8 million traded shares followed by Access Holdings with 28.5 million shares.
