Agency tasks Nigerian Students on patriotism

National Orientation Agency (NOA) has tasked Nigerian Students on patriotism, integrity and hard work

The NOA Director General, Garba Abari, gave the charge when he presented certificates of participation and cash rewards to winners of the Integrity Club Competition.

While presenting the rewards to the winners; Comprehensive Secondary School Nawfia, Ide Secondary School Enugu – Ukwu and Army Day Secondary School Onitsha in the South East geo-political zone, he stressed that the Integrity Club was established with a view to catching the Students young.

He equally charged the young Students to always respect their teachers, parents and the constituted authorities and as well guide them against all forms of temptations that would mar their brighter future.

While making the presentations to the winning Schools, Abari, represented in the event by the Anambra State Director of the Agency, Charles Nwoji, announced that Comprehensive Secondary School, Nawfia ranked first position while Ide Secondary School, Enugu-Ukwu and Army Day School Onitsha came second and third positions respectively.

In their separate speeches the Principal, of Comprehensive Secondary School, Nawfia, Reverend Augustine Otiji, and his counterparts at Ide and Army Day Secondary schools, Mrs.Obuma Uju and Mrs Regina Ofoedu respectively, said that they were elated, stated that they never knew that God would help them to go all that far in the Competition which came to them in a very short notice.

They told the Students to say no to get money quick syndrome as they work on the path of self-respect, honour and integrity, promising that they would continue to identify with NOA in its human-oriented programs in the state.

The competition was organized by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in collaboration with the National Orientation Agency(NOA)
