President Muhammadu Buhari is presiding over a meeting of the National Securuty Council, holding at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Those attending include the Secretary to Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.
Also in attendance are the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Farouk Yahaya, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Auwal Gambo, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi, Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali and other heads of security agencies.
It is expected that the meeting would review the current security situation across the country.
Recently, President Buhari assured Nigerians that the security challenges confronting the nation would be surmounted, emphasizing that he will hand over a secured country to his successor next year.
