APGA Candidate supports flood victims in Anambra State

The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, in the 2023 Anambra North Senatorial Zone election, Dr. Ebelechukwu Obiano, has distributed relief materials to flood-displaced persons camped in different IDPs in the State.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the exercise, the APGA Candidate, Dr. Obiano, represented by the Director General of the Osodieme Campaign team, Chief Chinedu Nnatuanya, empathised with the plights of the flood victims.

She notes they lost virtually everything and have also been exposed to different health hazards.

The materials which will help them cushion the effects of the disaster were cartons of noodles, bags of rice, loaves of bread, cartoons of diapers, bags of garri and salt, and cartons of bottled water.

The delegation also included a medical team who conducted medical examinations on the displaced persons, administered drugs and provided care for newborns in the camp.

Dr. Obiano, the Wife of the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, called on relevant authorities to aid the victims quickly, especially children, nursing, and pregnant mothers.

She assured them she would help them rebuild their homes when the floods reference.

Obiano also announced that she would take the medical costs of the flood-displaced persons referred to different hospitals during the visit.

The medical team leader, Dr. Chidumeje Okafor, highlighted some illnesses in the camps that threaten the new babies and toddlers.

The Anambra East Chairman of APGA, Chief Joseph Ekwealor, maintained that Dr. Obiano is well known for using her Caring Family Enhancement, Initiative (CAFÉ) to put smiles on people’s faces.

Ekwealor noted that the supply of palliative to the flood victims would go a long way in reducing their plight, giving them a sense of belonging.

He called on the people of Anambra North Senatorial Zone to give their support and vote for the APGA candidate to guarantee the transformation of the district and democratic dividends to the doorsteps of the people of Anambra North.

Some flood-displaced persons appreciated Dr. Obiano’s usual support and care, which they said speaks for itself. They recounted all her many good deeds during her husband’s administration in the State.

Unity Hall Umueri, Umuoba Anam Unity Primary School,

Eziagulu Aguleri Community Primary School,

Ayamelum Local Government Area Headquarters, Anaku,

Odekpe Civic Centre,

Crowther Memorial Primary School, Onitsha, and many other places.
