The People’s Democratic Party Governors’ Forum under the Chairmanship of Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State and other PDP Governors are felicitating its Vice Chairman, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State as he clocks 58 years.
A statement signed by the Director General of the forum, CID Maduabum said “as Governor, in the past seven years, Ikpeazu has brought his vast experience in human resource management and reorientation to build a vibrant workforce to redevelop the Abia State South East Nigeria.”
Maduabum said; “Under Roads infrastructure and Urban renewal, the first ever flyover in Abia State at Osisioma on Aba-Owerri Road and numerous roads inaugurated by his administration have indeed set the pace for others to follow.
He said; “His initiative, Kinetic Abia Programme, has yielded dividends through the reactivation of Industries, Foreign Direct Investment, SME funding, Commerce and Cooperatives, Consolidation of power generation, Water provision, Housing, Rural electrification, Education, Health, Youth and Women Empowerment, Agriculture and Security of lives and property.”
He stated that “The Forum congratulates him on his emergence as the PDP Senatorial candidate for Abia South Zone and highly appreciates the dedication he exhibited at the PDP 2021 National Convention as Member of the National Organising Convention Committee and Vice Chairman of the Venue and Protocol Committee at the 2022 Special Convention.
“He has stood for the cause of many and equally maintained a veritable balance in the polity while also boosting the future of our Party, PDP, and the Forum.’’
Maduanbum said the PDP Governors’ Forum is grateful to the Almighty God for the unreserved love and care in Ikpeazu’s life, and for the wisdom in his public life where he has rendered dedicated service to Abia State for collective development and prosperity in general, they prayed that God grants him good health, more foresight, and grace to lead his people.”
The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba describes Governor Ikpeazu “as a courageous leader who remains unwavering in his commitment towards the unity, stability and economic development of the nation in general and Abia State, Southeast Nigeria, in particular”.
He said the Party recognised Ikpeazu’s roles with other PDP leaders, especially in the mission to Rescue and Rebuild the nation and take over from the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Meanwhile, the Presidential Candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar has traveled to Europe on a business trip to meet with technical partners of one of his business entities impacted by the Covid-19 global lockdown and the consequent economic downturn.
His Media Aide, Paul Ibe said the meeting would also focus on conclusive discussions for a planned expansion of its production facility.
