Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Tuesday led thousands of All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the state as well as supporters of the Tinubu-Shettima presidential ticket on a solidarity walk around Osogbo metropolis.
The supporters had converged on Osun State Government House, Oke-Fia, Osogbo as early as 9am before setting out on the long walk with the Governor.
Many of the supporters carried banners bearing various inscriptions of support for the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
Oyetola led the crowd of supporters from Government House, Oke-Fia through Olaiya via Alekuwodo, past Odi-olowo, down Isale-osun, up Oja-Oba area, round Station road to Ajegunle before ending it at the Freedom Park, where he addressed the throng.
The Governor said the walk was significant for the victory of the party in 2023 just as the number of supporters of the Tinubu-Shettima ticket that turned up was remarkable.
He said: “The walk for Tinubu is a very symbolic one. We are using it to testify to his goodness. Tinubu will become the president of this nation because God’s mouth has proclaimed it.
“Tinubu’s popularity is well grounded in Osun state. He has been with us in Osun since 1999, and he contributed heavily to the emergence of progressive victory in this state”, he added.
Oyetola also enjoined the larger Nigerian electorate to prioritize Tinubu’s experience, capacity and resourcefulness in making him their preferred choice in 2023, urging them to shun incapable hands.
“Nigerians should not leave the country for those who will experiment with it through governance, we must vote the person who is experienced. He has changed Lagos State.
“Tinubu would not just state problems bedeviling the nation, he always proffered solutions or frameworks to address them, he said.
