Labour Party’s Deputy Chairman in Oyo State defects
The Oyo State Deputy Chairman of the Labour Party, Olubukola Olayinka, has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), along with hundreds of followers.
Olayinka, who disclosed her official defection, admonished the Labour Party leadership in the state, adding that Atiku, the PDP Presidential flag bearer had the political experience, capacity, and integrity to unite Nigerians.
She confirmed that her decision came up after consultations with friends, associates, political peers, and leaders. Also, the Labour Party’s internal crisis among the leaders in the state augured her stance to take a final bow.
She said, “In the spirit of sincerity, love, and progress, I wish to announce my exit and that of my followers from the Labour Party. Hundreds of my followers who believe in my political mentorship and I are also on this noble course.
“As an advocate of peace, whose life is driven by unity of purpose, I have done my best as the Deputy Chairperson of the Labour Party in Oyo State even in the face of sheer persecution.
“My people and I have ceased our memberships henceforth with immediate effect. We strongly believe that the leadership and Government of Atiku Abubakar will guarantee the security of lives and properties of all Nigerians.”
