Nasarawa state Police Command debunks alleged kidnap of Commissioner

The Nasarawa State Police Command has debunked the news on social media (Facebook) credited to one Mikiya that the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Ari Muhammed was kidnapped near State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia, Nasarawa state capital.

 

The state commissioner of police, CP Maiyaki Muhammad-Baba stated this during a media chat with members of the pen profession in Lafia, the state capital.

 

He said that the news publication is false and misleading, thereby urging members of the public to disregard the news.

 

Maiyaki Muhammad-Baba is the new commissioner of police that assumed duty on Tuesday, 8th of November, 2022 after succeeding, CP Adesina Soyemi, following his elevation to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).

 

The new CP called on journalists to work together for a smooth and effective Policing of Nasarawa State during his tenure as the Commissioner and beyond.

 

“I want to seek your support and collaboration in making sure that issues concerning the Police, be reported objectively and investigative journalism is conducted or carried out before publication”.

 

Muhammad-Baba further assures the residents of the state that crime would be fought relentlessly.

 

“I will continue where my predecessor stopped and be available at all times for the people of Nasarawa State”.

 

He said doors will always be open to residents at any time and any day.
