Foundation, hospital Organise Free Medical Outreach In Anambra State

Twenty-four open heart surgeries have been successfully carried out within two weeks of free medical outreach organised by Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation and Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Hospital, Oraifite, Ekwusigo Council Area, Anambra State, in collaboration with Vincent Obioma Ohaju Memorial (VOOM) Foundations, USA.

During the two weeks free Medicare, the team of doctors also treated twenty-five critical heart related ailments, while over seven hundred people suffering from various ailments also received treatment and counselling. Authorities of the Federal Ministry of Health were also on ground to see things for themselves.

Speaking to Journalists, the Chairman of Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation (SEOF), Engineer Emeka Okwuosa said his aim of establishing the cardiology hospital was to make a difference, bridge the gap in medical health delivery and to immortalize his late mother, while the Executive Director of the Foundation, Honourable Azuka Okwuosa said the hospital has state of the art equipment which made it possible for the team of medical personnel to achieve a major feat by performing twenty four open heart surgeries within two weeks stating that Sir Emeka Okwuosa foundation is a pacesetter in philanthropic and medical gestures.

The President of VOOM Foundation, Dr. Vincent Ohaju, happily announced that the medical mission was highly successful commending the volunteers and Sir Emeka Okwuosa for putting up security apparatus which gave them the confidence to come down and work while Dr. Adanna Akujuo, a Cardiothoracic Surgeon and the Medical Director of Missions for VOOM Foundation said they handled risky cases and overcame all challenges due to the equipment on ground which is comparable to what they have in the United States.

The General Manager of Sir Emeka Okwuosa Foundation, Amanda Obidike disclosed that one hundred and ninety-two million naira was expended in achieving the medical mission aimed at uplifting lives.

Others who spoke including the Executive Director, VOOM Foundation, Shawn Andaya-Pulliam and the media head of SEOF, Sir Osselloka Offor, spoke on services of the hospital.

Some beneficiaries of the community outreach, appreciated Sir Emeka Okwuosa for series of health interventions given to the people.
