On Day 7, Lionel Messi’s magic helped Argentina beat Mexico 2-1, while Robert Lewandowski’s first World Cup goal gave Poland a 2-0 victory against Saudi Arabia. Africans Tunisia fell to Australia after a 1-0 loss, with World champions France needing a brace from star forward Kylian Mbappe to claim a 2-1 victory against Denmark.

Qatar 2022 promises to deliver another day of thrilling encounters, upsets, stunning goals, drama, wild celebrations and more.

Spain Vs Germany

Two football giants, Spain and Germany, will face off in Group E of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup by 8pm (Nigerian Time), at the Al Bayt Stadium in the city of Al Khor.

Spain are cruising from its 7-0 thrashing of Costa Rica on Wednesday, while Germany are looking to recover from its 2-1 loss to Japan. The match promises to be a thrilling encounter filled with plenty of action in Qatar.

Stars like Gavi, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres will be seeking to get one over rivals Germany, as victory for Spain could knock Germany out of the competition, depending on the outcome of the match between Japan and Costa Rica.

To have any chance to progress from Group E, Thomas Muller, Ilkay Gundogan, Serge Gnabry and Jamal Musiala will be looking to put on a show for the Germans in a must-win match.

Having won the World Cup four times, the Germans are seeking a fifth, but they will need to be on their best in order to claim all three points against a tricky Spanish side.

Japan Vs Costa Rica

Japan are set to take on Costa Rica in the other match of Group E, at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium by 11am (Nigerian Time).

The Asians beat came back from behind to beat 2014 champions Germany 2-1 in arguably the greatest moment of Japan’s footballing history. Victory for Japan against Costa Rica could seal its spot in the Round of 16.

For the South Americans, they were beaten 7-0 by Spain in their opening match. It was Costa Rica’s worst loss in the history of the World Cup. They would need a win to keep alive its chances of progressing from the Group.

Belgium Vs Morocco

The Atlas Lions of Morocco will face the Red Devils of Belgium by 2pm (Nigerian Time), at Al Thumama Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

Morocco’s first match against Croatia was a tough encounter which ended in a 0-0 draw. Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech and PSG’s Achraf Hakimi will be looking cause an upset when they face Belgium. The last time the both sides met at the 1994 FIFA World Cup, Belgium beat Morocco 1-0.

Despite being ranked second in the world by FIFA, Belgium struggled in a 1-0 victory against Canada in their opening match. Their team of stars found it difficult to contain a well-organised Canadian side.

This game could be setup for another shocker in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, only if Morocco could capitalise on Belgium’s slow start.

Croatia Vs Canada

2018 finalists Croatia will face Canada in Group F of the 2022 FIFA World Cup by 5pm (Nigerian Time), at the Khalifa International Stadium in Ar-Rayyan, Qatar.

Both sides will be looking to get their World Cup campaigns started after frustrating results in their opening games. Croatia were held to a 0-0 draw against Morocco as they struggled to to breakdown the Africans.

Midfield technicians Mateo Kovacic, Luka Modric and Marcelo Brozovic will be looking to conquer the centre of the pitch in their bid to record their first win of this tournament.

For the Maple Leafs of Canada, they would be looking to recover from their 1-0 loss to Belgium. Star player Alphonso Davies saw his penalty saved by Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in the match.

Canada will be relying on its high press and sharp movement if they are to stand any chance of claiming all three (3) points in the encounter, against a resilient Croatia side.
