The Authority of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has lamented the rising index of displacement and humanitarian crisis in the country.
The Federal Capital Territory Permanent Secretary, Mr Adesola Olusade gave the hint during a fundraising event for victims of flood disaster in the country organised by a non-governmental organisation, Angelina Ogbole Memorial Foundation in Abuja.
The Permanent Secretary attributed the growing index of displacement in the country to flooding, banditry and insurgency.

He further stated that the FCT was doing a lot in rendering humanitarian assistance, particularly arising from insurgency in the North East.
According to him, “We have done a lot to assist them. Though there is no camp in the FCT in line with the international based practice that no camp should be set up far away from the scene of the disaster.“
The Permanent Secretary who assured on the FCTA’s commitment to tackling humanitarian crises in the Territory called on the residents to support the activities of the NGO, which is doing a lot to address humanitarian crises in the country.
