The equities market index shed 0.09% to settle at 48,853.54 points amid renewed bearish activity just as market capitalisation of equities depreciated by N25 billion to close at N26.6 trillion.
The Exchange also recorded more loses with 16 losers relative to 13 gainers at the close of trading.
At the end of the day’s trading session, a total of 162.97 million shares with market value of N3.87 billion were traded in 3,286 deals.
Smart Products Nigeria led the gainers with 10% share price appreciation to close at N0.22k, followed by Cornerstone Insurance Company with 8.7% gain and a closing price of N0.50k and BUA Cement gained 3.6% to close at N95.00k.
On the other hand, SCOA Nigeria lost 9.3% to close the day’s trading at N0.78k. It was followed by Chams with a loss of 8.7% and a closing price of N0.21k then Jaiz bank lost 8.42% to close at N0.87k.
Sterling Bank recorded the highest volume of 31.6 million traded shares, followed by Guaranty Trust Holding with 19.2 million shares.
