Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, his wife Dolapo, former Chief General Staff, Rear Admiral Ebitu Ukiwe (Retired) and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, on Tuesday night, attended the 2022 Christmas Concert at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan was represented by Senator Emmanuel Bwacha.
Others who graced the event were the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama, the Primate, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Archbishop Henry Ndukuba and other Christian leaders.
Delivering the Christmas message, Rev. Ndukuba said called on Nigerians to build on the country’s diversity and strengthen peace and cohesion.
The cleric decried the widening fault lines caused by religious leaders and politicians.

“In our fractured world and nation, our religious and political leaders have politicized religion, and in fact weaponized our tribal differences.
“When we consider the Nigeria of today, our differences and diversities have become weaponized, but God intended them to be our strength.
“Jesus is our peace; he has reconciled us to God by his death on the cross of Calvary; and in this Christmas, he speaks to us the world of reconciliation, of forgiveness, of forebearing with one another, making us instruments of God’s love, peace and unity.
“Just as St. Francis of Assisi said, make me an instrument of your peace, where there is hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, let there be pardon, where this is discord, let there be unity, where there is darkness, let there be light, where there is dispair, let there be hope, where there is sadness, let there be joy”

Archbishop Ndukuba prayed for Nigerians to be peaceful and full of mercy for one another.

The first lesson at the concert, taken from John 4:24–27 was read by Senator Bwacha, while the second lesson from Luke 1:26–30 was read by a visual impaired lawyer, Mary Owoyele, who delivered it in braille.

About 15 groups and gospel artists performed at the 2022 concert.
