The Deputy Governor of Anambra state, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has assured that the government of Professor Chukwuma Soludo is determined to delivering quality and verifiable projects for people of the state in terms of road infrastructure and other basic amenities for the citizenry.
The Deputy Governor gave the assurance during a meeting with the Anambra state 2022 intending pilgrims in the conference hall at the Government House, Awka, the state capital.
Ibezim who disclosed that the state government is in agreement with contractors handling all the road projects in the state, said that the roads will be of high quality such that it will last for about twenty years, adding that the Soludo led administration will replicate such quality in all other projects it will carry out in the state, as a way of restoring people’s confidence in governance.
Dr Ibezim urged the intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state and as well,be focused on the major aims of the journey which are renewing their spiritual lives and praying for the state and Nigeria in general.
The Permanent Secretary Office of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Ifeoma Uzokah and the leader of the team, Barrister Obiora Nweke who is the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on pilgrims, while describing pilgrimage as one of the cardinal points for expression of faith, congratulated the intending pilgrims for being among the chosen, as according to them, they were carefully selected and screened, even as they expressed hope that they will be of good conduct.
Speaking, one of the intending pilgrims appreciated the state government for finding them worthy for the trip, promising that they will keep their eyes on the ball, and will use the period to pray for divine intervention on numerous challenges confronting the state and Nigerian nation at the moment.
The thirteen intending pilgrims of the 2022 self-sponsored pilgrimage will embark on the journey on December 26, 2022.
