The National Social Investment Programme (N-SIP), has graduated four hundred beneficiaries in the North East after a three months training offered to them.
At the graduation ceremony in Yola, Adamawa State capital, Professor Umar Bindir, N-SIP’s National Coordinator, said the programme is the initiative and innovation of President Muhammadu Buhari to see that youths, women and persons with disabilities acquire skills that will make them self-reliant and employers of labour.
Bindir advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the starter packs given to them and not to sell them out.
Adamawa State N-SIP’s Focal Person, Mrs Mery Yuwadi, revealed that the beneficiaries were trained for three months on life skills, entrepreneurship development, phone and laptop repairs.
She added that the beneficiaries were drawn from Adamawa, Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe States and the training was successful.
Mrs Yuwadi advised the beneficiaries to keep learning and put the skills acquired to practice and not to dump or sell the tools given to them.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Emmanuel Samuel, a participant from Borno State thanked the federal government and President Muhammadu Buhari for the training.
He said that the training has impacted their lives positively and pledged to make judicious use of the tools given to them.
