A Pro-Democracy Organisation, Democracy for Africa Programme has called on all stakeholders to collaborate to ensure a seamless 2023 general elections in the thirty-six states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

It called on relevant authorities and stakeholders to as a matter of necessity, come together and develop common grounds on strategies in line with the peculiarities in their respective states, to enhance the coming elections in Nigeria.

In a press statement issued in Abuja, the Group’s Country Director Dr Benedict Bem Kokoiwen stated that the new initiative will not only bring the stakeholders on the same page but also enable them to collectively identify the likely encumbrances to the elections.

The statement also stated that it would also enhance idea sharing on prevailing issues in their states for the purposes of developing common grounds for the conduct of peaceful and credible elections.

Dr Kokoiwen opined that this has become necessary in order to address most of the challenges that were likely to stand on the way of the elections in the respective states and the need to provide conducive atmospheres for the conduct of the elections next year.

He noted that since all the stakeholders would work together, the possibilities of rancorous elections in the states and the Federal Capital Territory would  be reduced to the barest minimum.
